Family Day

Frank's work had a Family Fun Day on the Friday before the girls and I headed for Olathe. We had a great time! The girls of course loved the bouncy castles, but another fun thing turned out to be exploring the RVs that were on display. I've never been much of an RV person, but after seeing these souped up campers, I have to say I understand the draw! They also had the some firetrucks on display - another big hit with the girls! The girls got to actually hold the fire hose and spray some water! A big plus and surprise for me was the band Eve 6 played! "Here's to the Night" is one of my favorite songs of all time! So we all sat right up close and enjoyed the very loud music.

Jenna's Two!

Jenna turned two this Saturday! We celebrated by having cupcakes and presents with the family. She has a soft spot for Thomas the Train and really liked a train set we saw at Kay Bee Toys recently. So we got it for her, and she just loves it! I am so glad to have pictures of her birthday - I accidentally deleted them from the camera! But thanks to good recovery software (and tons of fustration), we were able to get them back, including this gem of Jenna and her cupcake - whew!

Zoe's Ballet

Here's what six weeks of ballet will get you! It's amazing how much she's learned. In the last video, she could barely do the knee hop across the floor, and now she does it so well!

4th of July

We had a busy 4th of July. We spent the entire day with our friends the Bishops. We started by biking to the Corrales parade. This parade is like no other yet it's 100% Americana. In this small, rural village, the parade consists of paper machet horses riding bicycles, pet llamas dressed in advertisements for the local UPS store, a kazoo band, plenty of horses, and an abundance of floats being pulled by very well used tractors. After the parade, we all went back to the house for grilling and pool fun. Later we had smores and watched the fireworks from our yard. The girls really enjoyed spending the day with their friend Mychal.

This is typical Corrales. Traditional Uncle Sam being followed by a horse on a bike. Notice the guy with the thousands of balloons in his backpack. * The kids playing in the pool in our yard.

Lunchtime! * The kids hiding from the fireworks.
